Plot Summary:
The company CollegeSource's mission to provide awareness of educational an career opportunities to people; what began as an annual microfiche collection of U.S. Catalogs, spawned a comprehensive database of national and international colleges and information on how to get there. College Source Online is an online database of about 67,881 colleges that contains information about the college, allows you to search geographically, find transcript information, provides a digital catalog, and gives a link to the school's website. The profile page for colleges includes contact information, tuition/ fees, accredited agencies, areas of study, and degree levels. This database saves the hassle of having to find school brochures, find out where the college is and what it has to offer; they are even linked to maps that can show you what the school actually look like.
Critical Evaluation:
I found this database to be easy to use and very helpful in the search for the right college. It has a clean interface, easy language and it doesn't have any unneeded ads on the site distracting from content. Although for this particular database I had to go to a library website with a library card, I did find that there were online versions that were free, which I do find positive because I feel that everyone should have access to college information. In the database you are able to view schools that are in the U.S. and out of the country, as well as easily maneuver to the college website and get the information desired quickly and efficiently. I did also trust it as an accurate source because it is a licensed database and accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

I could find no challenge issues with this database. It is purely for looking at colleges and resources.
Why this Database?
I thought that it would be important to include a database into the collection and to add something that would help young adults look for colleges in their future.
